8"x8" square oil painting on 1/8" gessoboard.  Our hydrangeas have exploded in size this year and the blooms are plenitful- purples, blues, pinks.  They glow in the partial shade of our cherry tree.  I have a big wicker rocker sitting by them, and after work, I like to sit there and knit or read and take in the summer eve magic.  This was painted en plein air on my back patio.
