I painted this after buying radishes from Whole Foods and being stunned by the red color!  It is not simply red but has a purply magenta in it in the shadow and an orangey red in the sunlight.  I can get lost in this red.  My mother had the most wonderful vegetable garden and my father would go out thee on summer evening's and pluck radishes and scallions from the dirt and eat them with some salt and dinner.  Brings back memories.....
