This is a 12"x12" original unframed oil painting on 1/8" gessobord, painted in my sunroom, looking to my backyard.  It has been a rough winter with very low temperatures and snow that has turned into a block of ice.  I was getting tired of the cold and my husband brought me home a bouquet of snapdragons which you can see in the painting.  The sun was bright and catching the light and there were glorious purple shadows.  The couch was catching the cool light and warm shadows.  My cat, Gibby, not in the painting, was sitting on the back of the couch, watching the birds flying and hopping all over the place.  This painting is titled "Ten Degrees" for the temperature that day in Fahrenheit.
